Report an Issue

First of all, thank you for willing to report the issue you encountered with 划词翻译, or to propose new features for 划词翻译!

划词翻译 is developed and maintained by me alone. Due to the increasing number of features, and my limited energy, it is inevitable that problems will occur. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Before reporting an issue, you can try to solve it by following these steps:

  • If you forget your password, please click here to reset your password.
  • Check the FAQs to see if you can find an answer.
  • Check the changelog to see if your issue has been fixed in the latest version. If so, upgrade 划词翻译 to the latest version v11.1.3.
  • Try restarting your browser. After installing or updating 划词翻译, the extension will not work on pages opened before installation/update, and all previously opened PDF pages will be closed. Restarting the browser or refreshing the previously opened pages can solve these problems.
  • Close all other extensions and leave only 划词翻译, then restart your browser. Other extensions may affect the normal use of 划词翻译. Known issues include uBlock Origin and NoScript.
  • Try upgrading your browser to the latest version. Some issues only occur in older versions of browsers. Of course, you can still report the issue to me, and I will try to be compatible with older versions of browsers.
  • Uninstall 划词翻译 and reinstall it to see if it works. This method may solve many "difficult problems", such as the 400 error reported by Ali Translate. But please note: after uninstalling, the settings, bookmarks, and history saved in the browser will be lost.

If the above steps still do not solve your problem, please send me your operating system name, browser name and version, 划词翻译 version, and necessary steps to reproduce the problem through the feedback channels below.

Why do some issues only occur in older browsers?

划词翻译 uses many new features provided by the latest browsers to reduce the size of the installation package, improve performance, etc. In addition, due to my limited energy, I only tested 划词翻译 on the latest version of browsers. Therefore, if your browser version is low (e.g. Chrome 69 or Firefox 58), your problem is likely to be caused by the lack of new features required by 划词翻译 in the low version browser.

If you want to report an issue​

The issue you encountered may require multiple steps to reproduce. I can only solve your issue when I can reproduce it. To speed up the process of "reproducing the issue", please provide the issue in the following format.

I am using Windows 10 Chrome 87 and 划词翻译 7.3.3 (provide the operating system, browser, and 划词翻译 version numbers). Today I found that the PDF translation function is not working. The steps to reproduce the issue are as follows (provide the necessary steps to reproduce):

  1. Open a website http://abc.efg
  2. After logging in, search for "xxx", click "Download PDF" on the search page, and Chrome browser will open this PDF file

Expected behavior: 划词翻译 should work normally in the PDF file.

Actual behavior: After selecting text in the PDF, the 划词翻译 button does not pop up. (Indicate where the problem is by comparison)

When reporting an issue, it is best to attach relevant files, such as screenshots, videos, or PDF files that cannot be translated normally.
