Why are the translation results of Google Translate different from those on translate.google.com?
Solution
Make sure that the version of Selection Translate is v10.4.0 or higher, and then select "Slow speed, high accuracy (速度慢、准确率高)" in the 【Third-party services (第三方服务)】-【Google Translate (谷歌翻译)】-【Interface type (接口类型)】 on the Selection Translate settings page.
Note: After you select "Slow speed, high accuracy (速度慢、准确率高)", you will find that every time you use Google Translate, a small browser window will pop up, and it will automatically close after about one second. This is normal. If you can't accept it, please select "Fast speed, low accuracy (速度快、准确率低)".
Three Google Translates in Selection Translate
There are three Google Translates in Selection Translate:
- "Fast speed, high accuracy, but with usage frequency restrictions"
- "Fast speed, low accuracy (速度快、准确率低)"
- "Slow speed, high accuracy (速度慢、准确率高)"
No matter which one you choose in the 【Interface type】, Selection Translate will always try to use the "Fast speed, high accuracy, but with usage frequency restrictions" Google Translate first. Only when it reaches its frequency limit will it use the Google Translate you choose in the 【Interface type】.
This is also why Google Translate will only have a lower accuracy ("Fast speed, low accuracy" Google Translate) or pop up a browser window ("Slow speed, high accuracy" Google Translate) after using it for a period of time.
There is a bug in Selection Translate v10.4.0 ~ v10.4.4. After selecting "Slow speed, high accuracy (速度慢，准确率高)" Google Translate in the 【Interface type (接口类型)】, it does not prioritize the use of "Fast speed, high accuracy, but with usage frequency restrictions" Google Translate, which causes a browser window to pop up every time it is used.
