Microphone Translation

Lingua supports translating speech input through the microphone. If you want to translate audio / video on a web page, please refer to Audio / Video Translation.

The speech translation feature can be opened in the following ways:

  • After opening the translation panel, click the microphone icon in the upper left corner.

After opening, you can start speaking. Lingua will display what you say in real time. When you stop speaking, Lingua will send what you said to the translation panel for translation.

Introduction to Speech-to-Text Services​

The speech translation feature requires a speech-to-text service to convert your spoken words into text. Chrome and Edge browsers have this service built in, but you need to be able to access the Internet to use it. If you cannot access the Internet, or if you are using the Firefox browser, you can choose to use Tencent Cloud's real-time speech recognition service.
