Download Offline Package for Manual Installation

In some cases, you may prefer to download the offline package to install the 划词翻译, such as:

  • You cannot open the Chrome Web Store.
  • You want to use the latest version, but the latest version is still in the review process of the Chrome / Edge Extension Store and has not been listed.
  • The latest version has a serious bug, and you want to temporarily use the old version of the 划词翻译.
  • The browser you are using (such as browsers with Chrome kernel such as QQ, 360, etc.) cannot install the 划词翻译 online.
Note

Offline packages currently only support browsers with Chrome kernel such as Chrome, Edge, QQ, 360, etc., and do not support Firefox.

Step 1: Download the Offline Package in the Cloud​

After entering the "划词翻译离线安装包" folder, you will see the offline packages of various versions of the 划词翻译. The offline package is a file with the suffix .crx, named "划词翻译 vX.X.X 用于 Chrome 和 Edge.crx", where "X.X.X" is the version number of the 划词翻译, you can download the offline package of the version you want.

Before downloading, you may be prompted "This type of file may harm your computer, do you still want to keep it?", choose "Keep".

After downloading, you may be prompted "Cannot install extension from this site", ignore it, the offline package should be in your download folder by now.

Step 2: Manual Installation​

  1. After obtaining the offline package, open chrome://extensions/ in Chrome / Edge browser.
  2. Turn on the 【Developer mode】. This switch is in the upper right corner of Chrome and the lower left corner of Edge.
  3. If you have installed the 划词翻译 before, and the version of the offline package is lower than the 划词翻译 you have installed, please remove the 划词翻译 you have installed.
  4. Drag and drop the offline package onto this page.

Notes​

The offline package will automatically update in Chrome​

The 划词翻译 installed through the offline package is exactly the same as the 划词翻译 installed in the Chrome Web Store, which means:

  • It will still automatically update in Chrome.
  • It has the same ID ikhdkkncnoglghljlkmcimlnlhkeamad as the 划词翻译 installed in the Chrome Web Store.

If you don't want the offline package to automatically update in Chrome​

If the latest version has a serious bug and has not been reviewed for a long time, you may need to stay on the old version for a period of time. You can do the following:

  1. Change the .crx suffix of the offline package to .zip and unzip it.
  2. Enter the extension page (chrome://extensions/) and turn on 【Developer mode】.
  3. If you have installed the 划词翻译 (ID ikhdkkncnoglghljlkmcimlnlhkeamad), please turn it off first.
  4. Then click "Load unpacked" and select the folder you just unzipped. Note: There should be a manifest.json file in this folder. If not, you have selected the wrong folder, and Chrome will report an error "Manifest file missing or unreadable".

In this way, the 划词翻译 will be installed in Chrome in the form of a folder, and it will become a local extension with an ID not ikhdkkncnoglghljlkmcimlnlhkeamad, and it will stay on this version all the time.

But please note: the old version may also have bugs, please do not stay on the old version, you should delete this local extension after the new version is approved, and then re-enable the 划词翻译 with ID ikhdkkncnoglghljlkmcimlnlhkeamad.

The 划词翻译 offline package in Edge will not update automatically​

Installing this offline package in Edge will be displayed as "From other sources" (ID: ikhdkkncnoglghljlkmcimlnlhkeamad), which is the same as the 划词翻译 installed in Edge from the Chrome Web Store, and will not overwrite the 划词翻译 installed from the "Microsoft Store" in Edge (ID: oikmahiipjniocckomdccmplodldodja), after installation, you need to turn off the 划词翻译 from the "Microsoft Store".

In addition, Edge will not automatically update the 划词翻译 from other sources, but you can manually update the 划词翻译 from other sources, see the steps below.
